The Salt Lake Climbers Alliance is Utah’s leading voice for climbing access and stewardship: uniting, educating, and inspiring climbers of all disciplines to serve their local climbing community since 2002.

The SLCA exists to provide a unified voice for climbers in the Wasatch and surrounding regions through advocacy, stewardship, community, and education.

About Us

The Wasatch Mountains are a climbers paradise. Located within minutes of Salt Lake City, these mountains host an incredible variety of climbing terrain. From long, multi-pitch routes in alpine settings to a lifetime of bouldering, it can all be found in the Wasatch.

Unknown to most climbers however, is the patchwork of private and public lands that make up the boundaries of the Wasatch. From private property to wilderness, this variety of land ownership is almost as diverse as the rock types themselves. In the past, infrequent use of many areas kept access problems to a minimum. These days, pressure on the Wasatch canyons is at an all-time high, not only from climbers, but from a large pool of user-groups.

The Salt Lake Climbers Alliance helps alleviate potential access conflicts that may arise in the future. Climbers should be leaders in the fight to preserve access to our canyons, since our sport depends upon the continued availability of these delicate resources.
