SLCA Little Cottonwood Adopt-a-Crag
October 9 & 11, 2008
The SLCA would like to give a huge thanks to all the hardworking volunteers and sponsors that helped make this year's Adopt-a-Crag Day in Little Cottonwood a success. Over 60 volunteers braved cold temps and snow to build a substantial new trail to the Egg.
It was actually a two-phase project, with an advanced crew of about 20 working on Thursday, October 9 to remove graffiti from the boulders along the Little Cottonwood trail and adjacent the park and ride lot with a sand blaster. They also picked up 10 bags of garbage (among the things found: vintage beer cans, clothing, unmentionables, and even a homeless guy that helped out). More work is needed, but the results of the graffiti removal are amazing (check out photos here and here).
