Red-Tailed Hawk Chicks! Blob Crags (off I-80)

Red-Tailed Hawk Chicks!
The pair of Red-Tailed Hawks at the Blob Crags (off I-80) have hatched 3 chicks! (Zoom in on the photo to see the adult hawk and one nestling’s head visible). Thanks to climbers for continuing to avoid these routes and giving the birds space to successfully breed. See mountainproject.com‘s crag page for information on which routes to avoid until the chicks have fledged from the nest. For more information about this nest or about volunteer opportunities for raptor nest monitoring at climbing areas, contact echabot@hawkwatch.org
