If you are age 73 or older, you may choose to support the Salt Lake Climbers Alliance through a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) from your Traditional IRA.

This option allows some donors to:

• Meet their Required Minimum Distribution (RMD)

• Reduce taxable income

• Give what is meaningful to them to help protect climbing access and steward the places we love to climb

With a QCD, funds are sent directly from your IRA custodian to SLCA and are not included as taxable income.

How it works

• Contact your IRA custodian (such as Fidelity, Schwab, or Vanguard)

• Request a Qualified Charitable Distribution

• Make the check payable to Salt Lake Climbers Alliance

To qualify, the gift must be sent directly from your IRA custodian to SLCA.
